Project Zambia
Hospital Chitokoloki
Chitokoloki
is a remote mission hospital in North West
Zambia along the Zambezi River
and has
electrical power for a total of 4.5 hours a
day using a generator. (Fuel cost
$50,000.00+ per year)
I-TEC
the run of
the river turbine unit designed for
Chitokoloki
is still under
construction. After it is tested here
in the U.S., a decision will be made
concerning installation in the Zambezi
River. If all goes well, I-TEC will
run 1.5 miles of electricity for a generator that will allow them
24hours of electrical power for the first
time in the history of the hospital.
