KAMAKWIE WESLEYAN HOSPITAL

Planned for 2012 – 2013

 PROJECT DETAILS:

Install 5000’ of new overhead 230/416 volt quadraplex wire on steel poles.

Install new main panels and transfer switch in the generator room.

Re-wire the hospital panels and some of the branch circuits.

Prepare for new battery and inverter system.

TIME COMMITMENT FOR VOLUNTEERS:

Three weeks preferred but a minimum of two weeks

COST:

Approximately $2,500.—$3,000.

The location of Kamakwie is inNorthern Sierra Leoneand requires approximately an 8 hour drive with several hours of very rough dirt roads.

 

There is no connection to the National Grid and the hospital electrical feed is from two generators 25kw and 50kw.

The final design is to install 30kw of solar but this still requires considerable fund raising.
